HCSKL 2010 Notes >
Day 36
0:00 - Opening prayer time
3:00 - Daily devotion mindset - communion.
Perspective of Truth in Times of Crisis
4:10 - When you were going through your family trials did you keep your same disposition and communion? - There is a grace such that it doesn't matter what you are going through. Not against emotions.
4:50 - If you had seen me that day you wouldn't have known anything was going on.
5:00 - Thurman Scrivner testimony - A preacher preaching at a church. Wife and daughter killed in car wreck. Worship - honor the blood welcomes them into eternity.
5:30 - It's not wrong to cry. But there is a place where you are so fixed and eternal life becomes such a reality... To know Him is eternal life. So he wasn't overwhelmed with the sense of loss that we think we have to be overwhelmed by. In that moment he appreciated the reality of eternal life - heaven - never dying - no fear of death.
5:50 - Scrivner (cont.) - Wife and daughter. Policeman tells.
6:15 - Sometimes people hear that as - well, if I cry, I am not spiritual. No. But there is a place where you are so consumed by truth. Where truth is so your reality that it makes you free.
6:30 - That doesn't mean that he never wept.
6:50 - Thankfulness. Nothing has ended.
7:05 - Eternal Perspective - We don't get that yet because we live very sensual and very temporal - very now. We lose sight that this is just a little window that introduces us to forever.
7:25 - Coveting - Don't covet this life. Use it wisely. Don't covet this life as if it is the only one that you have.
7:40 - Coveting wife and children at the cost of God. Every good gift is from God. If anything goes wrong here, He is the one who takes the heat.
8:00 - Clay rising above the potter. Wrong perspective.
8:10 - So if you lose a loved one, it's not wrong to cry. But to lose your zeal, your joy of life, your purpose of life when something tragic happens... the blood of Jesus is greater.
8:30 - I am just impressed that the blood of Jesus is greater and that heaven can become that real.
* * *
➡ 8:35 - The importance of communion - This is why we want to wake up and commune with Him and not just do a daily devotion. Because your knowledge of God, in a crisis like that isn't going to save you. It's your knowing Him. It's Him being right there with you that's going to save you.
9:00 - Religious practice - So don't be caught in devotional practice. I'm not against devotional books but you can let anything become religious. Even the things that we teach can become religious if you don't keep the heart in them. You can do a daily devotion and have total communion with God. Or you can read it and feel like you did your Christian duty this morning. And later say, "I read and prayed today." You're not passing the Christian grade. You're in fellowship with God.
➡ 9:35 - YESTERDAY - We tried to talk about healing - but I don't know what we talked about. Questions. Hold questions.
➡ 10:35 - TODAY - I want to lay a foundation on healing.
Establish the Will of God to Heal All
11:15 - If you want to move in healing you have to establish in your heart that it's the will of God to heal. It's huge.
11:40 - Jesus healed ALL - The life of Jesus reveals that. All that came to Him were healed. All that asked of Him received. He went around doing good healing ALL that were oppressed by the devil - Acts 10:38.
12:10 - Syrophoenician woman - But I believe you love everyone. Everyone is created in your image.
14:15 - Yesterday there was a question about Jesus only prayed for the ones He knew that God wanted healed. And that God has a big part to play in this. That's what we always teach.
14:35 - We're major players - I don't teach that. I think we are major players and huge keys in this whole thing called healing. God has given us the kingdom. Jesus said, Fear not little flock, it's the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom - Luke 12:32.
15:00 - Connect the dots between "the kingdom" and healing.
The Kingdom - What He is Doing (Healing)
15:15 - Nicodemus - We know you're from God. Nobody can DO the things that you DO unless God is with him. Jesus responds, Unless a man is born again, he will not see the kingdom of God.
15:40 - So Jesus is defining the things that He is doing as the kingdom. It's simple and indisputably there.
16:00 - Keeping in mind that Jesus was on a mission to reproduce Himself in as many as would believe. His answer is all about us. His response almost sounds off the wall. He doesn't say, "Well yeah, that's because I'm from the Father..."
16:35 - Nicodemus wasn't contesting. He actually believed. Unless a man is born again... What's He doing? He's opening the door for Nicodemus to realize that He can be reproduce and he can follow Jesus and that if he gets born again - out of Adam and into Christ - the things that you are seeing... If you get born again the things that you are seeing and honoring in my life will be the same things that you see in your life. And it's the kingdom that your're seeing.
17:25 - Unless a man is born again, he will not see the kingdom of God. We are narrow in our interpretation of that to mean
that we think that he won't be able to go to heaven.
* * *
17:55 - Go to Luke 6 - What Jesus is saying is in light of persecution but it's bigger than that. It's all about leading and following. Jesus is leading and we are following. We are the sheep. He is the Shepherd. Jesus said, "Follow me." He also said things like - He who believes in me will also do the things that I do and greater things will he do because I go to the Father - John 14:12.
Jesus - Our High Priest - Access to the Father
18:35 - So when He goes to the Father there is a flesh and bone man in heaven representing man to God. So we have access to God because a man is there. Yet He's God. That's amazing. Be careful that that doesn't become religious knowledge. Ask Holy Spirit to make that really big in you. It should change our lives.
19:20 - Jesus being our High Priest is a big deal. It's the only reason we can step into the presence of God.
19:50 - A Man is in the holy heavenly sanctuary of God - at the right hand of God - His blood on the mercy seat - a High Priest forever over humanity. And because we see that we have that High Priest we can come boldly into the throne room - total access to the Father through the Son - and receive help and mercy in a time of need. That's relationship - covenant - all that is Mine is yours - Now, come.
20:30 - Since He doesn't change, He is able to save to the uttermost - Heb. 7:25. That means completely and forever - those who come to Him by faith.
20:40 - This thing is so locked in. It's about you and me staying fixed on truth and not being moved by anything. Fixed on truth - even when it seems like prayers aren't answered. And the whole time He is there a Priest forever. What He has accomplished is still there waiting for us to grow up into Him in all things.
21:10 - And we toss it away because of rational knowledge... That truth is waiting there to change the world.
Healing: A Student is Like His Teacher
➡ 21:30 - Luke 6 - v.40 - I am going to lay a foundation this morning...
21:45 - v.39 - And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? -
22:00 - v.40 - The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. - He's not talking about human teachers. He said Call no man Rabbi, for you have one teacher - Mt. 23:9. God even says that there are teachers in the body of Christ. But there is really only one Teacher - teachers should only teach what they are taught by the Teacher.
23:00 - Jesus is the Teacher - Jesus was called Rabbi. They acknowledged Him as teacher.
23:15 - We're to be like our Teacher - Everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. How do you get around that. Rational of experience. Fully trained - the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
24:25 - v.41 - And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? - It's like, "Would you just grow up in this truth and be like Jesus and stop looking so much at each other. Get your eyes off of all of this other stuff because it's keeping you from being like the One who is teaching you." You can look at this from His view. It's a distraction. We're so busy trying to fix each other and He is saying just be reproduced after me.
25:15 - Red letter editions.
25:30 - v.40 - No way around that.
You are gods
25:40 - John 10 - This scripture is not talked about very much because I think it scares us... Who grew up hearing the phrase, "Well, that was Jesus..." When you teach today and compare to Jesus people will say, "Well that was Jesus..." Even the Pharisees said to Jesus - Who do you think you are? Who do you make yourself out to be? They said, "Tell us plainly if you are the Messiah." Then when He told them, they wanted to kill Him - they were ready to stone Him. "For what good work are you ready to stone me?"J "Blasphemy, for you being a man make yourself out to be like God."
27:40 - v.24 - Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. - and following
28:00 - v.25 - Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. - The works I do - So the doing of His life is what revealed who He was - not the saying but the doing. That's big. And we think that we are not to do the things that He did? When the doing is what revealed who He was? We've turned the gospel into doctrine. We've put our confidence in good preaching.
28:35 - v.26-30 - But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. - Pretty bold for that culture and to those who were accusing Him of blasphemy.
29:20 - This is Jesus speaking who told us to follow Him and who also said, Make them one as we are one... I in them and You in me - John 17. This gospel is so intimate. It's about family. It's so about being one.
29:35 - How can it so be about being one and yet we are lacking what it takes to do what He did? We're not. We're just lacking understanding. We've been deceived. We've let circumstances, feelings, rationality, a friends voice be our teacher instead of Jesus. We have one Teacher.
30:05 - If people aren't saying what Jesus' life is saying, you still love them but they are not teaching you rightly.
30:45 - v.31 - Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. - Tell us plainly so that we can kill you. You really bug us. You almost act like you are God. They are constantly hearing blasphemy. The more Jesus talked, the more they heard what they wanted to hear. And the more right they had to kill Him. They are not even teachable.
31:30 - v.32-33 - Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. - You being a man, make yourself God.
32:05 - v.34 - Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? - Ps. 82:6
32:20 - v.35 - If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; - gods - small "g". Parenthesis - we put parenthesis into scripture all the time that aren't there.
33:10 - Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. - It's written in your law that you are gods. Remember He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Well who are all of these other lords. That sounds blasphemous because we are just fallen, sinful flesh. We can't ever get anything right. By the skin of our teeth we are going to get into heaven. That's what we are taught our whole lives.
34:05 - The heart is wicked. There's nothing good in it - Jer. 17:9. Well, get born again and get a brand new one.
34:15 - His ways are not our ways - His ways are higher... - Is. 55:8. Well, get one with Him and get led by the Spirit.
34:30 - No eye has seen, no ear has heard... - 1 Cor. 2:9 But the Spirit has revealed them to us - is the very next verse.
35:00 - At work - guy says that to me. You scare me man. The Christians at work decided to pray for me to hear truth. They thought I was off the deep end. Asked me to lead communion. Nobody came back. Offended over communion.
36:45 - King of kings and Lord of lords. Ps. 8 - Man - a little lower than Himself! We're His sons. Tree and branches - all work together as one.
37:45 - You can't separate the life of Jesus from our lives now. Same Spirit. He gave us the kingdom. Promises. How can we sell that short now that He said, "Follow me."
38:10 - John 10 conversation recap. You are gods.
38:50 - Scriptures cannot be broken. God is not fickle. Whether or not we rise up and walk this thing, one day we will find that it was all set in place - it was all available.
39:30 - Your experience doesn't change what's available. But how you see it and pursue it has a lot to do with what we experience. If you let yourself be talked out of what Jesus is saying, you could find one day the we were actually stewards of the kingdom and that we had so much authority. He said, I give you authority over all the power of the enemy - Luke 10:19. He was talking to the twelve but then He told them to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you - Mt. 28:20. It's for us too.
Objection to Healing - Miracles Only Until the NT Established
40:35 - Objection to healing - It died with the apostles - Where did we ever get that "died with the apostles thing?" You have to really want that to be the case to be able to understand the explanation. They get it out of 1 Cor. 13:8-12 We see in a glass dimly... But the word of God instructs us to follow Him and do the things He did. They say once we got the NT word we don't need to live like the apostles. Now we've got the word and the word settles everything. We're mature because we have this book.
41:45 - The verse they quote is talking about that day when He comes and we'll see Him face to face and we will put away every tool (tongues, intercession, etc) that we have now as unnecessary because it's over - it's all consummated. [Extended explanation] But they interpret it as when the cannon of NT scripture arrives, we are complete.
43:00 - Don't let yourself be talked out of your identity, your purpose, your destiny, your calling through Christ. We excuse away the very kingdom that lives inside of us.
Called to Demonstrate Him
43:30 - Willful vs. not willful blindness, ignorance.
44:20 - John 10 - v.35-36 - If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? - He called them gods to whom the word of God came - The word of God came to us - For God so loved the world - John 3:16. So the word is the love of God for me.
45:00 - v.37 - If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. - This is coming from the man that said, "Follow me." This is coming from the man that says, "Out of you belly will flow rivers of living water" - John 7:38. If you believe in me, the things I do, you will do - John 14:12. Earlier He had said - If you don't believe me, at least believe for the sake of the works that I do. But now He flips it - if I do not do the works of my Father then don't believe me.
45:55 - In our minds we condemn people who won't pray our prayer. "Well their hearts are hard. They had their chance." We are so busy preaching about Him, we forgot to follow Him. He gave man permission to not believe if He didn't manifest the Father.
47:15 - John 15:22 - If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. - The truth came in the face of the lie and exposed it. If He hadn't done the things that He did they would be innocent in a sense.
47:45 - v.37 - When I read that I think I am doing an injustice to society around me if I just preach without demonstrating Him.
48:10 - John G. Lake says that what separates Christianity from every other religion is the power of God. Every other religion is a philosophy or doctrine. What makes Christianity different is being able to say to the back - "Scoliosis come out, right now. Vertebrae straighten." And it will happen.
48:55 -Scoliosis healings - hunchback - You could hear it. Youth event. Baptist pastor on the first row. NC / VA line. Preaching on - If I don't do, don't believe. God revealed Himself to a hungry people.
51:40 - Healing atmosphere is not an issue - not an impediment. Who cares. He is Lord. Resistance could be because they have never been taught otherwise.
52:15 - Scoliosis healing (cont.) - We want God. When I preach I am setting myself up to look foolish or for God to be glorified. You'll see in a minute. I need somebody with something bad. Scoliosis. I got excited when she stood. I'm excited because of Jesus. Gather around. God's about to move. "Let her husband do the honor." Simple instructions. The husband barely spoke... We heard the bones crunch and pop - God did that on purpose. It wrecked everybody.
56:50 - They were undone because of the works of the Father.
56:55 - Jesus said something so powerful - If I don't do the works then don't believe me. He gives men permission to not believe if He didn't do the works. You don't hear people preaching that.
57:15 - v.38 - But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. - He doesn't stop there because He is not loose ended. He's not saying it's OK to not believe because He is not planning on not doing the works.
57:30 - Scoliosis healing (cont.) - Knees healed - Lady is bawling. Baptist pastor sitting right beside her leapt out of his chair and grabbed me in a bear hug and just bawled. Elbow problems. More problems. Be healed. Healing broke out. Cynical guy with knee problems. Drug him to church. The men of the church prayed for him without any instruction. Guy runs out onto the grass field - in circles - crying - runs in and leaps up onto table - Thank you Jesus!
1:03:25 - God wants to do this stuff. Look what it did to the people when God moved.
1:03:55 - Scoliosis healing (cont.) - They begged me to stay. Absolutely not. The kingdom is in you guys. Just preach Jesus and pray for the sick. Every night people got miraculously healed. 2 months later He called - thank you for the gospel. Every week healings.
1:05:30 - No stumbling - If it doesn't happen - Go after Him - This thing wants to take over the earth. What stumbles us is that we get momentum like that and then we don't see something happen.
1:05:40 - Blind eyes opened and then not - And then they didn't. Mind going bonkers. Let it take you a place of having all the more reason to go after Him because it didn't happen. Because they have to open. Get that in your heart. They have to open. Lord you have given me the kingdom. They have to open. Not to where I am carrying a weight that I can't bear but a conviction that I can release. Since then we have been seeing a lot of good things with eyes - glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc. We're not going to stumble when we don't see what we say that we are believing.
1:07:15 - Drawing back - We are going to contend all the more and get our hands on those situations all the more BECAUSE we believe that He heals the sick. When you draw back, you reveal that you are in turmoil. Gun-shy - reveals you've been rocked. When you jump right back in you are making a bold statement spiritually. "I know they passed but I know He is Lord and I know that He heals."
1:08:10 - We're the body - It's not just me - The whole emphasis of my ministry is that we are the body of Christ. There are no superstars - heroes. We all have the kingdom.
1:08:50 - Shut in - Husband a Mormon. All pain left. Husband cried.
1:09:20 - Incurable girl - Released from hospital. Eating though the mouth for the first time in six years. Aggressive.
1:11:00 - It impresses me that spiritual commands have impacts on the flesh. Not because of who I am but because of who He is in me.
1:12:00 - There is a lot happening. God is moving.
1:12:20 - Participant's testimony - 5 yr old boy - intestinal problems - prayed for him - eating, released from the hospital. Mother's back.
1:14:00 - These works of God snap us back to God reality. Doctrine grows cold in your heart. But when God moves it sobers you.
1:14:30 - Mothers collapsing on the floor and rededicating lives when kids healed.
1:14:50 - Participant's testimony - worker asks for prayer.
1:16:00 - Opera's show - healing outside of Christ.
1:16:35 - spirit of Paul - Guy with familiar spirit who claims to be the apostle Paul. The ask him all kinds of questions - life and ministry. The spirit takes him over. Twisted answers to questions. spirit to spirit question. Satan afflicts somebody and has the affliction leave and have everybody go "Wow!" So this guy is ministering and deceives the many. Strategic, intense deception. I read his book.
1:19:00 - There wouldn't be such a war if the gospel weren't so real.
1:19:20 - I read his book.
1:19:40 - BREAK
➡ 1:20:00 - Let's pick up where we were.
1:20:05 - v.37-38 - Believe the works - bearing witness through the works. Let the works lead you to believe that the message I am speaking is from the Father.
The Kingdom - What He is Doing (Healing) (cont.)
1:20:30 - Now in light of that think about Nicodemus. Nobody can do the things you do unless God is with Him.
1:21:00 - Let's go to John 3
1:21:00 - v.2-3 - Cannot see the kingdom - The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. - He certainly wasn't talking about visualizing the kingdom. Nicodemus saw the works, that's why he came. "See" means that this kind of powerful work is not going to be in your life. You're not going to do those things.
1:21:45 - v.5 - Cannot enter the kingdom - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. - So we get born again, He gives us the kingdom and we enter into the kingdom and now we are to go preach saying the kingdom of God is at hand.
* * *
1:22:00 - Matthew 10
1:22:15 - Don't get stumbled by the things that aren't happening.
1:22:25 - Randy Clark comment on healing - Let's just get our hands on the sick. I'm convinced that the more people that we pray for, the more people we'll see healed.
Stay in Faith - Regardless of Appearances
1:23:15 - Stay in a position of faith regardless of outward appearances - Judging by outward appearances as to what God did and didn't do subverts faith. It's not faith. In other words, if the pain is still there, saying, "Well, I wonder why God didn't heal?" We have to be careful to stay in a position of faith.
1:23:40 - Here's what faith isn't. Faith isn't a switch and a point in time - not something we turn on and turn off. Faith is what we live by. Faith is the position of your heart to receive what He paid for and accomplished - always. You are always in "yes" mode - green light mode.
Denial Isn't Faith
1:24:10 - Denial is not faith - Not talking about what some people made the word of faith movement into "name it, claim it" Or just denial - having a bone sticking out and someone saying, "Brother, what did you do to your arm? There's a bone sticking out of your elbow." "What bone brother? I'm healed. I was healed 2,000 years ago." That's not faith.
1:24:50 - People are almost afraid to tell you their physical problem because they don't want to "claim" it. You're not claiming it. You are just telling us how we can pray for you. [Example]
1:25:30 - Faith - Letting your request be made known - Here is faith. "You know, I am really glad that you asked. Right now my head feels like it is splitting open with pain but I know the will of God to heal me and the price that He paid. And I know that you are a woman of God. Would you grab my hand and pray for me because I know that I can be healed." That's faith.
1:26:00 - Staying in that place where you can't say anything about what you are going through is really weird.
1:26:15 - Healed, waiting for the manifestation - Randy Clark - Going to word of faith churches - I would give an altar call and nobody would stand up and move. But everywhere you go there are people who need healing. Then he figured out to say, "How many of you are healed, waiting for the manifestation?" And they would all stand and come up front.
1:27:10 - "I was healed 2,000 years ago." We think that's what makes us healed - holding on to that kind of confession. No, it's understanding that you're in the midst of something that's not the will of God - not your created value - He paid the price to remove it and in a faith that is working through love and relationship, you are being made whole. Keep it that simple.
127:30 - You don't have to be afraid to say you have a headache. But when you say you have a headache acknowledge that it's the will of God to restore you.
The Kingdom Defined - Authority to Release Power for His Purposes
➡ 1:28:00 - Matthew 10 - We were here yesterday we just didn't get very far.
1:28:10 - v.7 - And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. - The kingdom literally is in reach. Jesus also said, Don't look here or there for the kingdom of God is within you - Luke 17:21. Jesus tells us that the kingdom is within us and to go preach saying the kingdom of God is at hand. What does the kingdom consist of? Setting people free and making them whole.
1:29:15 - Remember Luke 4 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He has anointed me - Luke 4:18. Why? To make men free.
1:29:50 - Participant's request for clarification - Should God's "natural" become our "natural" and the world's "natural" should become our "unnatural"? - Absolutely. What we think is supernatural is because we have been in the world. What's normal to God, He wants to become normal to us. He wants us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds - renewed in the spirit of our minds.
1:30:30 - Gospel of the kingdom - We didn't just pray a prayer to go to heaven. When our focus is going to heaven some day it subverts why we are here. It cancels everything that we are saved for. It supersedes everything we were saved for. 1:30:55 - But the kingdom of God and the things that you do and being born again and seeing these things flow through your life... He wasn't talking about seeing these things with Nicodemus' eye because Nicodemus had already seen Jesus' works. He's talking about manifesting them and having them flow through Nicodemus' life.
1:31:20 - v.7 - Jesus never said pray a prayer to go to heaven. I don't know where we got that. In every commission it's go make disciples, believers... Heal the sick and tell them the kingdom is here. Every commission involves the supernatural, the restoration of man. It was never limited to pray a prayer to go to heaven.
1:32:15 - Preach it - Demonstrate it - Preach it and then demonstrate it. If I do the works of my Father then you ought to believe.
1:32:30 - v.8 - Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. - So when you receive the kingdom, what does the kingdom consist of? What do you receive? You receive healing, deliverance, power over death. He's saying that everything that you got by being born again, now you go give to the world that needs me. What did they receive? Do you think those guys were walking in wholeness? I guarantee you they were. Free from tormenting spirits, depression, anxiety, nightmares and fear? Yes.
1:33:55 - Peter's problems - That doesn't mean that Peter can't stumble into whacking off a guy's ear. He's ready to die.
1:34:40 - Kingdom defined - But there is a package that Jesus is trying to unveil here that comes - that defines the kingdom. Preaching the kingdom is at hand is healing and cleansing and power over death and power over demonic spirits. Why do we do those things? Because we freely received those things.
1:35:05 - So the kingdom of God is defined in the restoration of man. And you've received that through me. So give that through me.
1:35:25 - We got away from that in the church because of loss - death. But how we really got away from going for the goal - the prize - I really don't know - how we got away over the generations. And how it gets defended against.
Our Predicament - The Need for the Gospel but Contesting Against It
1:35:50 - What we're preaching on healing get contested really strongly by people that love God.
1:36:00 - Participant's comment / question - These three verses are like the whole Bible all in one.
➡ 1:36:15 - Purpose of school - That would be enough for you to live your whole life by. It's a nutshell. "You go preach. You come through me. You're in me and I'm in you. Now you preach to the world what I have done and given you. You go reproduce what I've given you.
1:36:30 - Formed in Christ - That's why identity is so important. That's why dying to ourselves, picking up our crosses, following Him is so important. That's why letting the gospel define you is so huge. That's all we talked about during the first 2 weeks of school and becoming love. Why? Because everything else subverts you from this purpose. Everything else hinders you - muddies your vision - keeps you from being confident that Christ is in you.
1:37:00 - People get insecure, unsure, turn back and introvert back into self-consciousness and self-centeredness. They look in the mirror and don't see what Jesus accomplished. And all of the sudden you are far away from your destiny, calling purpose and the things that are freely given.
1:37:20 - It's freely given. Mt. 10 - That one scripture alone says it's the will of God to heal. No way around it.
1:37:55 - Accepting Less - The only reason we struggle is because that has not been our experience. And the more we struggle the more we're guaranteed to struggle. Then when you set a doctrine in place that is less than truth, you will always settle for results that are less than truth.
1:38:15 - We defend loved ones dying - yet we can't bear their loss. We're in a trap. We make God responsible.
1:38:40 - Living in grief and loss - unproductive - waiting for this mess to be over - missing the whole point of why we're here. We are here to reveal the Father, through the Son.
Heal then Preach
1:39:00 - Luke 10 - v.8-9 - And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. - be grateful for what is provided. Connect v.8 to v.9 - Whatever city you enter... heal the sick there.
1:40:50 - Then you say, "The kingdom has come near to you."
1:41:00 - The Kingdom - The definition of the kingdom is when the sick are being healed - (definition - the tell tale signs of it) when people are getting free of demonic powers - when the dead are rising up - when lepers are being cleansed. And the reason they are being healed is the kingdom of God is in the people that are praying.
1:41:20 - Participant's comment - The kingdom has come near you is a physical thing. Near you through the disciples.
1:41:35 - Yes, totally. In reach. It's in me and flowed through me.
Explaining the Kingdom
1:42:30 - It's the kingdom. "What do you mean?" There is no standard response. Just get used to flowing with people. Different people are at different places.
1:43:00 - Explaining the kingdom - [example scenario]. Image of God. Selfishness.
1:43:30 - Airplane testimony - Christian understanding the gospel for the first time.
1:44:00 - Do you call yourself "Christian" or "Citizen of the kingdom"? Christian - little Christ like ones. Citizen of the kingdom sounds high minded. Believer. I just love God, Jesus.
1:44:50 - What do you say when people ask, "What denomination are you?" - I've never figured out what denomination I am. I just love Jesus with all of my heart.
1:45:10 - The beauty of the name "Christian" has been profaned. Negative tone.
1:46:15 - Speak on an appropriate level they can understand. Don't Christianese them - Christian language. Simply share that the kingdom is here.
1:46:40 - Drive by healings - not much time for going into depth. Trust them to Holy Spirit.
1:47:00 - Bob Hazelett - Prophesying over kids - taking hours. If you can explain it to kids, you can explain it to anyone.
1:47:35 - Speaking from the heart - It's important for it to be real to you so that you can convey it naturally from what is real in you. Otherwise, you are following a script. You want to talk out of the heart.
1:48:00 - Speaking out of what is real. Speaking out of your reality. They are your own word.
1:48:55 - At Power and Love - We don't give any steps or scripts. We just share intimacy and identity with the participants. Because out of that place what you are saying will be real.
1:49:05 - Introspecting - Enemy of that introspection - self-critiquing in a negative way. Being hard on yourself. Instead of God, thank you for the honor and the words that I spoke into them [more]. I'm just believing that what I said was so enough. You can work with anything. You're amazing. Everything coming out of you should be life-giving like that. You are not doing yourself any good by introspecting.
Preach First - Heal First
1:50:00 - Luke 10 - v.8-9 -
1:50:20 - Is there a difference between the "kingdom of heaven" and the "kingdom of God"? - I don't believe so.
1:50:30 - Preach first - Heal first - In Mt. 10 it's preach and then heal. In Luke 10 it's heal and then preach. So there is no method. Do what you have faith for. Some people feel like they need to preach a little first. It stirs our faith up. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word - Rom. 10:17.
1:51:10 - I don't preach very much in public. With Christians, people need truth. But usually it's after I pray. In public I heal first more than I preach first. When you heal first they are very receptive to the message. "What just happened?" And just answer them. Don't just say that the kingdom is near you. Give them understanding. Explain what it means.
1:52:40 - The commissions of Jesus say, heal and preach and preach and heal.
1:52:20 - Mt. 28 -
Shake Off Rejection
1:52:25 - Mt.10:14 - What does it mean to "shake the dust off of your feet"? - God still came near. You are wiping any mindset, any rejection, any persecution... You are wiping that off. It's not about rejecting a city. It's about not letting the rejection affect you. It's not a judgement against the city. "You had your chance."
1:54:40 - Mormons - That was one of the scriptures that wrecked them. Explained what it meant. Senior elders come knocking. Better training. Came to home group. God moved. Welcome any time. Never seen a Mormon on our street since then. They couldn't refute the word of God.
1:58:00 - Stick with the word - God will hold their hearts accountable until either human pride says, "Whatever" or they repent.
1:58:15 - Mormons (cont.) - Two young men. Like the words were a sword. Buzz saw. Elders came to better prepare. They were sincere. You're really limiting yourself by just reading the Bible.
2:00:00 - Be careful of extra things - more than the Bible - more than the blood.
2:00:00 - So we are brushing off the dust because we are not letting people's rejection stick to us. We're not going to be molded and shaped by society. We're made in Christ and we're giving Him to the people.
Teaching Them to Obey All that I Commanded You - (Including Healing)
We were All Intended to Flow in the Kingdom
➡ 2:02:25 - When I travel it's more about sowing seed. This school is more about getting established - building up. Length of the school.
2:03:40 - Mt. 28 - v.16 - Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. -
2:04:20 - v.17 - And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. - That's human nature. "Can that really be you? I watched you die."
2:05:10 - v.18-19 - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: - All authority in heaven and on earth. Listen to how one we are with Him. Go therefore. He can see nothing else than you being His church, His people, His bride. All authority has been given to me. And since I'm in you and you're in me now you go.
2:06:10 - So are we waiting for God to move or is God waiting for us to go?
2:06:35 - People miss the intimacy of this because they relate it to the eleven disciples. He's saying reproduce yourself. Make them what you are.
2:06:50 - Apostle - sent one - ordained to be sent to establish or build.
2:07:00 - Reproduce after your own kind. Jesus reproduced. He's the Apostle and High Priest over our confession - Heb. 3:1.
2:07:40 - The reason for the gifting is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry - Eph. 4:12.
2:08:00 - v.20 - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. - Teaching them to obey - If He told them, "Whatever city you are in heal the sick," then they are to teach us that. I believe they did in the beginning. But somewhere along the line somebody didn't get healed. And they thought about it. And somewhere in there something shifted.
2:08:50 - Teach men everything that I have taught you.
2:09:00 - Prayer to go to heaven - The message of praying a prayer to go to heaven didn't come from these guys. It popped up about 100 years ago. Years ago people got saved and water baptized and began to bear fruit and you just knew who was a Christian. Because of the life they lived and the change.
2:09:30 - Water baptism. The message they were preaching.
2:10:15 - Prayer to go to heaven is not bad. People have been transformed. But it's not the message He told us to preach.
2:10:25 - v.20 - to the end of this age. We're still in it - the last days. One day closer. Be sober minded. Wake from sleep. Let Christ give you light.
2:11:25 - Pastor mad at me - heretic - in hell for misleading the church. God's will to heal. His mother had died of cancer. Stereotyped as Pentecostal. Running on trail. He had bad dreams at night. Speaking of healings. Suffer in grace and not lose your disposition. When are we ever supposed to lose our disposition? Loss of mother. I threaten the doctrine that protects him. You can't let that rejection stick to you. Called me a liar. I forgive you and I love you. You're being religious, you hate me. One personal loss keeps him from embracing the truth to the point where we can't even talk about it.
2:19:00 - Belief system to protect from the hurt of loss - Don't let your belief system be built because of offense or loss or pain. You will defend it because of those same things. They are devised by the flesh.
Sitting in Unbelief
2:19:40 - Mark 16 - v.9-10 - Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. - A lot of us are still mourning and weeping and we need to know that He's alive. They were mourning and weeping while He was alive. That's the moral right there. He's not the God of the dead but of the living.
2:21:00 - v.11 - And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. - It's all about believing. They SAW Him and some still doubted.
2:21:20 - You can be in a room with someone who is healed and still doubt it.
2:21:30 - Pastor disbelieving - new knee right in front of the pastor. Running. - Pastor came to guard the guy - emotions can be a powerful thing.
2:23:50 - Unbelief - Documented healings - There is no explanation good enough for unbelief. They question everything. And faith doesn't need an explanation.
2:25:10 - Lazarus - Here is what Abraham said to the guy who had asked that a messenger be sent back to his relatives to warn them: They have Moses and the scriptures. Let them believe them first or they won't believe, even if someone is raised from the dead - Luke 16:31. All they will say is, "How do I know they were dead?"
2:25:40 - There is no explanation good enough for unbelief. Unbelief is a terrible thing that makes the human mind and reasoning and the wisdom of the world into god. It's the fall of man at it's finest.
2:26:10 - v.12-13 - After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. -
2:26:45 - v.14 - Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. - He rebuked them. None of this "Hey guys. Good to see you." What causes the unbelief? The hardness of their heart. God is calling man to believe. Even though they didn't see Him for themselves, He held them accountable for believing. The just live by faith - Rom. 1:17. That's why faith doesn't need an explanation.
2:28:00 - v.15 - Commissioned in the face of unbelief - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. - They were just rebuked for their unbelief and immediately were released into their calling. That's powerful. Unbelievers getting corrected by God - Now go. He didn't send them to the 13 week School of Kingdom Living. Go do what you are anoint to do. Three minutes before they were sitting in hardness of heart and unbelief. Then, "What are you thinking?" Commission for the world to be saved right in the face of hardness of heart. You are still qualified. Now would you go... Just know that I am He.
2:29:50 - The gospel is: The kingdom of God is at hand. That men are redeemed and filled with the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead. And that He restored all things back to original value.
2:30:00 - v.16 - He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. - Believes and is baptized.
All Who Believe are to Have the Kingdom Flowing
2:30:20 - v.17 - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; - Is He talking at all about the eleven? No. He's talking about the ones who believe through their message. So the same things that were happening through the apostles should be happening through those that believe. Believers are birthed out of believers.
2:31:00 - In my name - Why? Because Mt. 28 all authority in heaven and on earth is given to me.
2:31:10 - v.18 - They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. - Sounds like the kingdom is at hand.
2:31:20 - So who will do that? The people who come in believing through the message preached.
2:31:30 - Participant's comment - "creature" instead of all people.
2:31:35 - Cats - beyond hope. After the fall.
2:32:40 - Probably referring to all creation. Let's make the gospel known to the earth.
2:33:00 - v.19 - So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. - He went and sat as their High Priest and mediated on their behalf.
2:33:15 - v.20 - And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. - Confirmed the word with signs. Somehow we got away from that.
2:33:30 - So there is no difference between the eleven and those who came in at their preaching.
2:33:40 - The only reason we are sitting here is because those eleven went. You're a product of their obedience.
2:34:15 - Praying for participant's children. Explaining how to do that.
