Day 50 (2011)

Two Different Experiences

➡ 0:45 - YESTERDAY - We were talking about the two different experiences of: the baptism of the Holy Spirit and your born again experience. How Jesus breathed on them in John 20 and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” But in Luke 24 He told them to tarry in the city and wait for the promise of the Father, and that they would be baptized, not with water, but with the Holy Spirit and endued with power to be witnesses. It’s two different things.

1:15 - Born again experience - new life from God - What happened in John 20 was their born again experience where their spirit was recreated, regenerated, re-fathered. Just like when God breathed into Adam and he became a living being, they once again could live in God again. Why? Because of the power of the blood - the blood removed all sin - as if man had never eaten of that tree. And Jesus breathed life back into man.

1:35 - Baptism of the Holy Spirit - empowered to be witnesses - Then He said there is more (Luke 24). The person of the Holy Spirit is going to come on you and He is going to endue you with power to be a witness.

1:50 - Communion with Holy Spirit - There are two places in the Bible that talk about communion with Holy Spirit. So you want to know Him as a person.

2:30 - Orphan no more - You can’t possibly be an orphan when you are a Christian. You have a Father and Holy Spirit lives inside you.

The Person & Work of Holy Spirit

4:00 - The person of the Holy Spirit allows us to know God. Keeps us from just doctrine. I don’t just want Bible knowledge and to be able to quote the Bible. I want to know Him. That’s the whole goal of Jesus - to get us back to the Father - back to knowing the Father - back to being Fathered. It’s all about intimacy. It’s all about knowing Him. And the Holy Spirit will be speaking to us. Everything that is the Father’s is being ministered to us by Holy Spirit.

4:50 - So what are we lacking? Probably faith and trust in Him. So let’s just keep growing. We are not lacking any good thing. It’s the Father’s good pleasure - it makes Him feel good to give you the kingdom.

➡ 5:20 - Recap of yesterday - Person of Holy Spirit - Holy Spirit is the Helper - the Spirit of truth (not opinion) and testifies of Jesus. In John 16 - it is to your advantage that I go away - another helper just like me - allos - the same kind as me. Holy Spirit will do in His absence what Jesus would do if He were here Himself. He will do it in as many as would believe. God will multiply into as many as would believe. So we can all walk in Christ. We are the body of Christ.

6:40 - Sentimentally trying to hold onto Jesus - to keep Him from going. A seed is going to die, fall to the ground and bear much fruit. Each seed after it’s own kind.

7:15 - We are now the body of Christ on earth - “Christians” - little Christ like ones - contradictory to “Well, but that was Jesus. We are just people.” But we are people filled with the Spirit of God now. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and He will quicken us and give us wisdom and understanding. We’re not in the dark, we’re in the light. We are the children of God. We are the embodiment of Christ.

8:00 - Humility receives what He says about us and did for us, pride resists - It’s false humility to not receive what God is saying is true - by trying to raise Him up by lowering us down. Humility receives. If God says, “I love you.” Humility says, “Thank You.” If God says, “I want to come and live inside of you and do the things I did through Jesus.” Humility says, “Oh, that’s amazing. Come.” Not, “Who me? But I’m just me and You are God. We worship you.” One of the best ways that you can worship Him is to manifest Him and walk in truth. The best way you can bring Him honor is to say yes to everything He says about you through His Son. Your worship is not just with your song. It’s with your life lived surrendered to Him - in agreement with Him. Pride resists. Humility receives. The more you say yes to God, the more humble of a person you are.

9:00 - Who are we to resist Him when He says something about us and then we try to talk Him down. He seems to think you are worth filling with His Spirit. He seems to think you are worth the shedding of the blood of His Son. And you are going to say, “Who me?” You better believe it because God knows the truth about you and the potential and the destiny and legacy you could leave.

9:40 - Don’t let these great truths slip away - Life tries to steal that truth away. You look in the mirror and start thinking things contrary to this. You hear things through an ear that are contrary to this because of what others don’t understand. And all of the sudden that great truth slips away and yet it is still here. So take earnest heed of the things that you have heard lest they slip away. Reason for preaching truths over and over.

10:50 - Recap of yesterday (continued).

11:10 - People are impressed through your life lived - Conviction that comes through a consistent life lived. Just live the life. You don’t need to compel others to change. Leave that to Jesus. And don’t let anything change you but Him. Your war is never flesh and blood.

12:10 - Dan’s dad -Talking to him. He got offended. What happened to me. I’m not needing my dad to affirm me. I am already blessed. He owes me nothing. Born again. Blessing of my father.

18:00 - Recap of yesterday (continued).

18:10 - Holy Spirit is a Person. He’s the power demonstration of God.

19:10 - Born again - (John 4) When He breathed on them, life came inside, it was a well springing up - born again experience.

19:20 - Baptism of Holy Spirit - (John 7) Out of our belly will flow rivers of living water. A well springing up is different than a river flowing out - baptism of the Holy Spirit. River flowing out - That’s why we lay hands on the sick. And prophesy.

20:00 - Missing the blessing of your parents - The teaching that you can’t be ok until you have the blessing of your father or mother. You are missing your blessing. You are bound until you receive that. So we take the place of their dad and bless them at the alter. I’d rather just believe Jesus and be blessed by Him. I don’t see any reason why I could be limited. Except that I fail to believe the grace that has come through Jesus Christ.

20:50 - I’ve heard lot’s of teaching about - you are not under the blessing, you are under the curse. You need someone to bless you - someone to represent your parents and bless you because of the power of the blessing.

21:05 - If God is my Father and He is speaking over me, He is blessing me constantly. Call no man on earth your father. It’s the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. So why don’t you take it and get on with it and say, yay!

Tongues

➡ 21:50 - Recap of yesterday (continued). Acts 2 - Tongues - heard them speaking in their own language.

22:10 - Methodist youth camp - word of knowledge, healing. Word of knowledge - Spanish. Dude, I didn’t know you spoke Spanish. He heard himself in English.

23:50 - Private use of tongues. Singing in tongues to worship. Pray in spirit and with understanding. He’s not a goosebump but I feel Him. Holy Spirit is who makes God real. We are in love.

26:00 - God reality is the biggest missing link in the church. God desperately wants to change that. We have so much knowledge. And our knowledge is telling us what we should and shouldn’t do. And love leads your life. It’s being in love. He’s right there, whether you think He is or not. So never back off of faith. Never back off of pursuing Him. Don’t believe how you feel. Believe what He says.

27:10 - Technology can impede God reality - Put away technology and get alone with Him. Let God become real. If God becomes real the technology will find balance and not take the place of Him. I have passion about that because I know that we are being robbed of Him.

27:55 - Set your heart in God - People don’t get personal and commune with God. They read their Bible and do a devotion to get their mind on God instead of their heart in God.

28:30 - Tongues in prayer - God praying through you - Tongues mixed with English in intercession. Sometimes you don’t have a clue what you are praying but you know that it is powerful. God’s praying through you. Other times you will understand what is being said and you can speak it out in English. All of that is available. It’s all through the Person of Holy Spirit.

Samaria: Saved and Later Baptized in the Spirit

29:20 - Acts 8:4 - Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. -The people were scattered everywhere. God scattered them. Persecution came.

30:00 - Summarizing events of Acts 8. Miracles and signs.

30:50 - Simon, the sorcerer -  Impure motive - God calls us to a pure heart. Here is a man who has believed and been baptized and yet has a twisted motive and still wants power for wrong reasons. And Peter strongly rebukes him. It’s about giving your heart to Him. It’s not just about what He gives you - what you can get from Him. That’s why you hear me say, “You are not just saved to go to heaven. You are saved for heaven to come back inside of you. For your nature to be transformed back into the love of God.” The gospel is all about the transformation of life.

31:40 - Acts 8:19-22 - Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.- These are strong words.

What it means to be born again - giving yourself up to finally live - He just believed and got baptized. You’re crying out to God but you have all these rights - bitterness - carrying all of this stuff. When you get born again you have to understand that you are not just coming into something that is just fun. You are giving yourself up. You are dying to everything that ever was, so that everything that comes is new.

32:50 - Stay sharp in perilous times - Reading verses about the end times - the lists of sins. I just want to stay sharp. I'm not afraid of falling, I just like staying sharp. But you hear me preach the love and mercy of God. I don’t preach be careful in perilous times. But I read it personally because it keeps me ready - aware of where things really are. It keeps me clear.

33:50 - Water baptism with clear understanding - to die - Simon the sorcerer believed and was baptized and yet still carried wickedness and bitterness. That’s why I preach clearly the purpose of water baptism. You’re not going into the water for any other reason than to die. You are giving up everything and forgiving everyone. You can’t come out of there with bitterness if you go in with understanding. You’ve surrendered every right to be bitter.

34:10 - Not a power trip - We’re not on a power trip. We don’t just want the sick healed. We want our lives changed. That’s why Jesus came.

34:35 - For I perceive - discernment. He is helping the man.

35:10 - Continue in purity - pure in heart see God - Continuing in the faith and being pure in heart. It’s all about seeing God. You can’t let things sneak back in that you surrendered when you got saved. You’ll get a mixed view of your Christianity. It’s like a poisoned drink.

35:40 - Acts 8:12,14 - But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: - These guys are pillars and leaders and they went to them for a specific reason. I want to talk openly and plainly about this.

36:20 - v.15 - Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: - They know that this new church has just started. Samaria just got saved. Exciting time.

Objection: Only the Apostles could Impart the Spirit

36:50 - v.16 - (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) - They had only been baptized in water. When he says “only” he is not lessening the significance of water baptism but he is saying that there is more. You only got half of this package. There is more.

37:30 - Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not automatic when you get saved - If Holy Spirit had not fallen on any of them yet, then He is not an automatic when you get saved. He doesn’t always seem to come (automatically after salvation) with the evidence of tongues or the empowerment. He hadn’t fallen on any of them but they were already water baptized. Peter and John gave what they knew was upon their lives.

38:00 - Objection - “Peter and John had to go because only the apostles could impart Holy Spirit” - this can get sticky with people. It seems like that could be suggested here. But I caution you against reading things into the word. The truth is if you are baptized and a believer and have fellowship with Him and understand who He is in your life, you can lay hands on people and they can receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I don’t consider myself an apostle and I have seen hundreds baptized in the Holy Spirit. But I consider myself a believer. It’s a believer thing.

38:45 - Objection - There are no apostles today - If apostles were required for baptism of the Spirit, we would really have a problem because people say that there are no apostles today. Now we have cut ourselves off from the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

39:45 - Objection - Philip (evangelist, not an apostle) and the eunuch - no mention of Holy Spirit - There is no mention of the Holy Spirit, so Philip must not have been authorized. But there is nowhere in the Bible where it says that it is limited to an apostle.

40:00 - Jesus is our Apostle - There was nobody in my bedroom with me when I got baptized in the Holy Spirit - except the Apostle of our faith - Jesus. I guess that works. Don’t get technical with this stuff. There are a lot of limitations out there. We fight over things that we ought not fight over.

40:40 - Hebrews 2:18-3:1 - For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;- Look what you are - partakers of the heavenly calling. Oops, we are not just mere men. We are filled with His Spirit. The Bible says, whom He predestined, He also called… - Rom 8:30. That’s not a vain thing. I am humbled that God would want to come and live inside of me.

41:45 - Apostle - so all of the apostles aren’t dead. Oops. The One who started our faith is going to finish our faith as well. You can never get around the fact that there still an apostle. The day of the apostles hasn’t passed.

42:45 - High Priest - on our behalf before the Father.

43:00 - I just wanted you to see that Jesus is our Apostle. So I bet He could lay hands on me and I could receive Holy Spirit.

Receiving the Holy Spirit

43:20 - [back to Acts 8] - v.17 - Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. -

Two experiences - So there was a gap of time in there between when they were water baptized and when they laid hands on them for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Hands v. no hands - In Acts 2, nobody laid hand on them, Holy Spirit just fell on them. That’s what happened to me. It’s totally scriptural. But here, men laid hands on them and He came.

44:00 - This is one of the only places where it doesn’t show a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. But obviously something happened - some manifestation because it says…

44:15 - v.18 - And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, - So Simon saw something that captured him. In every other account they prophesy or worship or prayed in other tongues. Other tongues is really the main manifestation.

44:40 - Tongues - "I don't want to just be making it up." - And then people will say, “If you didn’t pray in tongues, you didn’t get the Holy Spirit.” And I have seen a lot of people really get bound up in their minds and feel like, “I don’t want to say it because I don’t want to make it up. If it’s not just coming out of my mouth, I don’t want to speak it out.  I don’t know if I even received Him. If I didn’t pray in tongues, I didn’t get it.”

45:10 - God promises to give the Holy Spirit - Luke 11:13 So if you ask, will He give Him?

45:25 - Soulical blocks - Didn’t want to make it up. Had heard of places where they tell you, “say yabadabadoo backwards three times and you will have it brother.”

45:50 - Just lay hands on people. “Be filled with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit come. Holy Spirit come.”

46:00 - Receiving Holy Spirit - Don't compare to others - You receive the Holy Spirit the same way you were born again. Everything you do you do by faith. I’ve had some people receive Holy Spirit where He comes and rocks them. But others genuinely receive and pray in tongues but do not have the fire and lightning. So don’t compare. There is always more of God. There is always fillings and re-fillings. So there is a baptism of the Holy Spirit that we are entitled to and it sounds like all we have to do is ask.

46:35 - One person I know received the Holy Spirit but didn’t pray in tongues. Some said to her, “You didn’t get the Holy Spirit.” She replied, I know that I got the Holy Spirit because the Bible says that if I ask for Him, He will come.” And I like that. Three months went by without praying in tongues but they were talking to Him every day. “I’m so glad that You have come.” Praying for spouse and couldn’t put her heart into words and she just realized she was praying in other tongues like crazy. The heart took her past the head.

48:00 - Was I just making that up? You can turn on your prayer language like water. On and off. Let it get flowing and you will get past your mind’s reservations because your heart is so alive.

48:40 - She wasn’t living by the fireworks or the shaking. She was living by the word. I will take that any day before shaking.

49:00 - Manifestations can be misleading. You can think that something is not happening because you don't feel it. No, something is not happening because we don’t believe it.

49:30 - Baptism of the Holy Spirit stories. Be filled. Diversity of experience. Praying in tongues.

51:00 - When you ask, He comes. Some circles say, “When you get clean enough, He’ll come. When your life is in line, He’ll come.”

51:15 - Lady from NC - listening to CD - Dr John CD - There has to be some reason that the Holy Spirit won’t come.

52:30 - Please don’t talk like that to people. That’s like telling a sick person, when you get faith, you can be healed. If you are going to diagnose a problem, give them the solution.

53:00 - Lady from NC (continued) - that was 3 yrs before - starting to think I am a pretty dirty vessel. Was listening to CD on righteousness. God you love me - burst into tongues.

55:00 - That’s the power of truth. We come up with things through intellectually analyzing and we say things that are so damaging. We don’t even realize.

56:15 - Why won't He come? - He is God. Why doesn’t He just come? He needs that belief - that there must be some reason - gone. If all of the sudden He came, she might feel like she worked her way to Him. That might set the precedent for her Christian life. No, it’s grace.

56:50 - [Back to Acts 8] Two experiences - So you see here that there were two separate experiences. Guess what happened when they believed and were water baptized. Receive Holy Spirit. He breathed on them. That was John 20 of their lives. Then the apostles came and that was the John 7. Out of their bellies can now flow living water. That’s Acts 1 and 2.

Caesarea - Cornelius' House: Spirit Falls While Preaching

57:20 - Acts 10:38 - Peter is in the middle of preaching.

57:45 - Acts 10:44 - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. - All of the sudden, the Holy Spirit just came. He didn’t ask them if they had repented or anything. Their hearts were before the Lord.

59:10 - v.45 - And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. - Holy Spirit just fell on those uncircumcised men.

59:55 - v.46- 47 - For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? - Look what Peter is thinking right away - water baptism. Both baptisms were extremely important.

100:30 - Salvation is not a formula - These people got saved while Peter was preaching. No altar call. No, “Father forgive me I’m a sinner.” Their hearts got saved while Peter was preaching. So it’s not a legalistic thing. It’s a grace thing. It’s the package of heaven.

101:20 - Water baptism is directly connected when people get saved. And the baptism of the Holy Spirit is right there.

101:45 - Objection - You receive the Spirit when saved -   I’m just proving to you, scripture after scripture, that when people say, “Well what are you talking about? You received the Holy Spirit when you were saved.” That’s not what Jesus taught. Jesus taught that Holy Spirit is coming.

102:00 - Objection - Spirit is already here - And then when Holy Spirit came, people think, “Well, He already came at Pentecost so He is already here. So when we get saved we step right into that.” But the Holy Spirit had not fallen upon any of the Samaritans. He came upon Cornelius’ household before they were even water baptized. Now we have got these fellows walking down the road...

Ephesus: Received the Spirit?

102:20 - Acts 19:1,2 - Received the Spirit? - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. -

First question - This was the first thing out of Paul’s mouth. The first question on His mind. Have you been empowered to be a witness? Have you received the wonderful person of Holy Spirit?

103:50 - v.3 - And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. - He could tell they were disciples. And then it made sense. You guys are still following John the baptist - repent and make way. The way has already come guys. He died and rose from the dead.

104:30 - v.4-5 - Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. - What’s the first thing they did when they believed in Jesus? Water baptism.

105:00 - v.6 - And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. -

Hands v. no hands - Acts 2 - no hands. Acts 8 - hands. Acts 10 - no hands. Acts 19 - hands. It’s just ways that we can receive.

105:20 - No hands laid on - Guy at work - Jerry - on the way home - praying in tongues. Randy - was taught that tongues are of the devil - I can’t see the devil in Dan - tongues in bedroom.

107:30 - Praying for lady to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit - you just want to be alone with Him. God honored that.

Tongues - Personal & In Gatherings

109:00 - 1 Corinthians 14 background. Two things he is talking about - the personal use of tongues and the use of tongues in a gathering. A lot of people don’t make that distinction. And later in the chapter he puts tongues and interpretation on the same level as prophecy.

109:55 - 1 Corinthians 14:1-3 - Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. -

Tongues for edification of self - So Paul is saying that there is a place in your life to speak in tongues and not speak to men but to speak to God. If you prophesy, other people get edified. With tongues there is an edification of yourself.

111:00 - v.4 - He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. - I’ve heard people make it sound like one of these gifts is better than the other. But I think it is important for you to be built up in the things of the Spirit. Then if you do prophesy it will really have whack behind it - not just prophesying out of your feelings and emotions.

111:30 - It’s not selfish. It’s a building up of yourself in God. It impacts your heart. Very aware of Him - intimate. You get pregnant in the Spirit.

112:30 - Pregnant in the Spirit - just a thought. What you give birth to will look like the Father. When you get intimate long enough, somebody ends up pregnant. And what they give birth to looks like the union of love. You ought to hear how I pray, God, I open myself up to you. Come into me and leave your divine seed and impregnate me with the will of God and let everything coming out of my life look just like you. I want children unto you God. I open myself up. Come into me and impregnate me with who you are. It’s real intimate. Some people get weirded out by that. It’s spiritual language. It seemed intimate - intercourse with the Lord.

114:20 - v.5 - I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. - Prophesying and interpreting.

115:10 - v.6 - Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? - If I taught this school in tongues, I would accomplish very little for your sake.

116:00 - v.7 - And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? -

Tongues in public - interpretation needed - He’s talking about the proper use of tongues. And what he is saying is, if you ever override what is going on in a corporate setting that ought to be interpreted for the edification of all. I don’t just pray in tongues loud and openly if I don’t know the people. I don’t want to stumble anybody. I’ll just do it in my heart sometimes. That’s not me being bound. That’s me caring about people.

117:30 [Skipping down to v.14]

117:55 - v.14 - For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. -

Who is praying? You are by the inspiration of the Spirit - I want you to see this. Who is praying? You do. He doesn’t take your mouth - and mobilize it. He just gives you the utterance. You pray. Some people are waiting for Holy Spirit to take over their mouth.

118:30 - Some people have the experience where it just came out of you where you didn’t even think about it.

118:40 - My kids got baptized in the Holy Spirit and prayed in tongues for three days.

119:20 - If I’m praying in tongues, it’s not praying from my mind. It’s not even praying from my heart. It’s praying from my spirit.

Water Baptism

119:40 - What about infant baptism? Does that count?

Infant baptism - believe and be baptized - When you are baptized as a baby, you have no understanding or belief. So it is not the same as the baptism that Jesus was talking about in Mark 16:16 - believe and be baptized and you shall be saved.

120:20 - Dedications don't take the place of believer baptism - It’s like a dedication to the Lord. There’s nothing wrong with it. Thank God that people are willing to give their children to the Lord in dedication. But it doesn’t take the place of believer baptism.

120:40 - Need to be born again one day - That baby that is being christened will still need to be born again at some point. They are going to see their need for a Savior and repent. You can’t take a baby and water baptize them and call them born again. They are going to grow up in the nature of sin - in Adam until they are born again. When they believe, they get water baptized. A baby doesn’t know that they are laying down their old nature - dying to the Adamic nature. And rising to new life in Christ.

121:45 - If a person was baptized as an infant but has never been water baptized as an adult - they have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, are they born again? They are saved - born again. But water baptism carries such a significance because of the grace that comes on you. My concern is that people who never get baptized are not acknowledging death to live. A lot of them are carrying the same fears, same emotions, same unchallenged mindsets into what is called a new life.

122:25 - The privilege of water baptism - Why wouldn’t we get water baptized if it is all through our Bibles and Jesus said believe and be baptized? We’re not getting legalistic with this and saying if you weren’t water baptized you are not getting into heaven. It’s your privilege to be baptized - to acknowledge my surrender to Him - a death to the old - dying to sin - coming up a brand new baby - sparkly clean. It’s the drowning out of unrighteousness and rising in the newness of life. It’s amazing and powerful. And it was in the message. Look through the book of Acts. Water baptism was a crucial part of the message.

124:20 - Acts 8:35 - Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. - Eunuch is reading from Isaiah. Of whom does the prophet say this? The eunuch is searching for truth.

125:35 - v.36 - And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? - The eunuch said (not Philip) hey water! I’m ready. That means that Philip did not preach Jesus to the eunuch without water baptism.

126:20 - Prayer to go to heaven undercuts transformation, baptism - Man made controversies over water baptism. That’s how we drifted into this pray this prayer to go to heaven and get your name in a book. That has nothing to do with transformation. Water baptism has everything to do with newness of life - the transformation of life and the resurrection power of God.

126:50 - So with this message to go to heaven we push away - well it died with the apostles - Jesus doesn’t heal today - there are no gifts today - well you really don’t need to water baptize, you just need to confess with your mouth and believe with your heart. That’s deception. It’s unscriptural.

128:00 - BREAK

Questions:

129:15 - Ask your Questions

130:25 - Ask questions in humility - not as a challenge or in frustration - Be careful of the heart you ask questions in - even when you are talking to God. Don’t ever assume the right to have attitude - contesting - being right and already having an answer before you ask the question. When you ask a question you want to be sincere and humble. Don’t ask your questions as a challenge. It will just hinder your ability to hear. The Bible says be slow to speak, slow to anger and quick to listen. Frustration can come out in your questions and it hinders your ability to hear. I don’t mind a challenging question. Jesus got them all of the time.

132:40 - Visual Bible Series - Matthew, Acts, Gospel of John. The guy who played Jesus in Matthew, prayed and fasted. It has to be realistic. It has to be like it was.

134:30 - Do you see Holy Spirit? What does Holy Spirit look like? Holy Spirit makes Himself known in many ways, not just as a dove.

135:00 - Wedding - like smoke - tied knot. Those things are fun but don’t even chase after them or look for them. They come in your communion with God when you can well steward them and they won’t get weird. You don’t live for them. You live for Him.

136:00 - Crystal waterfall.

137:40 - Holy Spirit manifests Jesus and speaks on behalf of the Father.

137:50 - Could you give some more clarity on “healthy living”? (Eating, organic, supplements, meds, smoking, sickness) How to walk out and live in divine health. Be the best steward you know to be of your body. If you have a conviction, follow it and eat right and do what is healthy. Just make sure that it’s not fear driving you. I think fear is more damaging than anything.

138:45 - Grandmother’s canning - sugar - made pies constantly - my grandfather ate a lot of sugar in his life - but he ate in temperance - They both lived into 90s.

139:40 - Eating - Keep a clear conscience - There is no law on this stuff. Do right - live right. I don’t watch calories. Todd takes supplements and stuff. That’s fine. But I feel like a million dollars+ every day of my life. I don’t relate to pain. I just relate to Him loving me. And I don’t violate my conscience in eating. I don’t indulge. I don't eat to excess. I don’t live to eat. I eat to live. I don’t live that way because I don't want to violate my conscience. And if my conscience is clear I have confidence before Him.

141:40 - Vulnerability and fear - People read articles and fear grabs them. And now they are coming for prayer just in case. No, when you read that article it’s, God thank you for the gospel. Without you I would probably die. Thank You that I am protected and preserved in You.

142:30 - If they see you putting something into your mouth that they wouldn’t put into their mouths - and you might be totally ok... We have more information. Most of us are afraid to live on the earth.

143:30 - There is no law but keep a clear conscience - If something violates your conscience, stay away from it. All things are acceptable. Receive with thanksgiving. There is nothing unclean.

144:00 - Summary answer - Live by faith. Live in temperance. Don’t violate your conscience. The law of love says, if something bothers you, don’t do it but whatever you do, if you do it, do it unto the Lord or if you don’t do it, don’t do it unto the Lord. Don’t get religious and don’t fight over it. Anything not of faith is sin.

145:00 - Vulnerability and fear.

145:30 - Flu shots - vulnerability to the flu.

145:50 - Medicines - I don’t have any medicines at the house. I’m not waiting to get sick. Even if I were to get sick, I would rather have a headache and lay ahold of faith for God to deliver me so that I could learn that God is my help, than to just grab a pill and use it to get rid of the pain in 5 minutes so that I don’t hurt. I would rather walk through that pain and believe God for help. This is just me. I would not say this for you. Am I growing dependent on something that gives me immediate relief rather than building relationship and experience with God? That’s how I think. That’s not to judge you.

147:30 - Eating - I actually think that I eat pretty healthy. And I am in communion with Holy Spirit and He hasn’t told me any differently.

148:15 - Indulging in sugar.

149:00 - Guy had conviction over smoking. Woman teaching Bible study quit smoking.

150:00 - Christian do's and don'ts are not what make you a Christian - These things are not what makes us Christian. One farmer to another - What makes you a Christian? I don’t smoke. I don’t drink. And I don’t run the women. Well then, I guess my mule is a Christian too. The do’s and the don’ts don’t make you a Christian.

151:00 - Romans 14:5+ What you do, do by faith. Stepping outside of love.

151:30 - Eating - Some ministries tell you what to eat and what not to eat. And my concern is: we are not even preaching the gospel any more. We are just trying to survive.

152:15 - Language of vulnerability - common cold, flu season

152:40 - Keep a clear conscience - There is a place to walk in the Spirit and not be foolish. It’s all about conscience. If you violate conscience you shipwreck faith. Anything not of faith is sin.

153:20 - Red Cross - blood - it’s like you are not even living in the world. It’s part of the package of redemption. I’m in the world but not of the world.

154:00 - Living in the Garden of Eden - What if I believe it’s as if I never ate from the tree. So I am living in the garden of Eden. I’m living in heaven - in heavenly places. There are more perks and benefits that I bump into along the way because I believe in one truth.

155:10 - How do I live in divine health? - What do I preach constantly? Communion and relationship with God and receiving His love. And even if you are going through things don’t question or get on a search or try to find a better scripture to apply to prayer, just keep receiving His love and grow up into Him in all things. And love casts out all fear and need won’t drive you in fear and love will release faith in your life and faith will release all things. So you are never a product of what you are going through. You are a product of what He has been through.

155:50 - Comparing ourselves among ourselves. If I share too many testimonies it can result in, “Boy, I have a long way to go.” As opposed to “Wow, There is so much more to walk in.” That is hearing in a wrong ear.

156:10 - On not getting sick - I'm not believing for that. I'm just in covenant and believe a bigger picture. I believe I am in Eden. I believe I am in Christ. And I am not in the world and I am not vulnerable to it. I’m not expecting to get the flu.

157:00 - I know that there are people here who are living with challenges. Our answers are receiving God’s love.

157:10 - Training - probation for 90 days - sick the first night. I was trying to get a healing - striving. Back to union and communion and relationship. Supervisor got healed the night before.

202:10 - Pursuing natural knowledge on health can feed vulnerability - I don’t chase natural knowledge on health. The list of things that you need to do to be ok can get out of hand. Some people are so health conscious they feel the worst of anybody I know. They feel bad all the time. And the more they feel bad the more they pursue that arena. And the more knowledge they get the more they feel bad. You’ve got to make sure that that is not a sense of vulnerability in you.

203:20 - Internet can feed vulnerability - We get freaked out by what we see in natural wisdom. I’ve watched people get so out of balance. It’s a fear thing.

204:15 - Going after Eden - If I can’t get what natural knowledge says is vital to my health. I am still in Eden. I want to know what Adam was before He ate from that tree. I want to know if Adam had vitamin deficiencies. I don’t think so. And that is just a place I am going after. You don’t have to agree with me on that. It’s a place of clear conscience and no fear. And it’s my privilege to go there.

206:00 - Lacking - Eat seaweed if you want to. But if your seaweed shipment doesn’t come in don’t feel like you are lacking. Don’t believe you have to be in trouble. That’s my point. When is Jesus Lord?

209:00 - Clean vs. unclean. Cultural differences. God’s a lot bigger than that stuff.

212:50 - What about drinking, smoking, coffee dependency / addictions after you become a Christian? I don’t want to cause others to stumble.

213:30 - The law of love - Everyone would do well to read Romans 14. It’s called the law of love.

213::45 - Drinking - Having an occasional drink at a restaurant - There are others to consider when you drink. It’s called the law of love. All things are lawful. It also says that you shouldn’t come under the power of any.

214:40 - Believe for divine health. Believe that you are in Eden. Grow in the love God has for you. Grow in the redemption God has for you. Believe in the finished work of Christ. Vulnerability and fear slip away.

215:10 - Smoking - violated conscience. Pain connected to smoking.

216:10 - Coffee - If you can’t not drink coffee without getting a real headache, that would concern me if I were in your shoes. You’re in bondage. That’s something to address. I don’t care if you drink coffee. But how can you say you are free. How is it different from a dependency on alcohol or cigarettes.

218:00 - Free from Mountain Dew.

218:50 - Break addictions - We are pursuing to know Him more but we are leaning and depending on a lot of things. People don’t want to break off those addictions. I don’t want to be bound to anything.

219:55 - Hunting and fishing - Hunting and fishing was that to me before I was saved. Exactly the same as alcoholism. After saved, didn’t hunt for 5 years. Go out and get a deer. I didn’t even want to open this door. God helps me hunt. Hunting turkey. Jesus hunts with me. I get home before the dishes are done. How long does it take a guy to get a deer?

224:00 - Occasional glass of wine - It’s not wrong to have a glass of wine with your dinner. I have no desire to do that but I could sit with you while you had that. I’d think nothing of it. But you have got to be aware of how it impacts others.

227:10 - Address convictions promptly - The part that concerns me is when people are bothered in their conscience and they don’t address it. We need to be great stewards of our lives and hearts. If Holy Spirit is gracious enough to shine light on something. Please follow your convictions. Otherwise you grey yourself out spiritually. You start getting condemned down the road. Or you start talking around what you are already convicted in.

227:50 - Let your relationship with God reveal those things that need to change. But when they are revealed, please ask Him for wisdom and please let Him walk you through it. Don’t ignore it. Because you did hear it and your conscience knows it.

228:10 - Going back into church work after ignoring the message.

229:10 - Closing prayer
