Dan Mohler - Growing up into Him
Dan Mohler on growing up into Him:
So when people say, “Yeah but Dan, the reality is not
everybody is healed,” how do you respond? I simply respond, “Well I know why
you are saying that and in all due respect and the only reason you are saying
that is because of your experience and our experience. But the Bible says we’re to teach and train until we grow up into
Him in all things - that we’re to follow Jesus. And the Bible says the
things He did we’ll do also if we believe. But when you say that: ‘But
everybody is not,’ that’s an absolute expression of uncertainty and unbelief.”
But yet what’s waiting for the believer is following Jesus. “These signs follow
those that believe.” “If you believe in me, the things I do, you will do.” “As
the Father sent me, I send you.” “Go in my name for all authority I give you -
all authority over all power - to tread upon serpents, scorpions and all the
power of the enemy.” Right? “I give it to you.” And then we’re still tossing
around the will of God. So when we pray we’re praying because we have great
need, not because we have an answer. We’re praying because we have great need
so we’re trying to incorporate God and His word and promises into our need
hoping it prevails and works and bails out our loved one. And most of the time
it’s a “fingers crossed” prayer saying all the right things without a
revelation of God’s will in the matter.1
“You
have set him over the works of your hands. You have put all things in
subjection under his feet for in that He” - God - Who’s doing this? God. He put
all things in subjection under him - small h-i-m - meaning man. “He left
nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put
under him.” Who has seen the answer to all their prayers? Who’s seen the total
recovery and healing of all their situations? Who’s seen everything go the way
the Bible says it’s supposed to? But yet all things are placed in subjection
under our feet it says. And that we are in authority over the works of His
hands. For in that He put all in subjection under him he left nothing that is
not put under him. But now we don’t yet see all things under him.” But look
what the next four words are saying - verse 9. “But we see Jesus.” Where do you
fix your eyes when you don’t see things in subjection to what you believe you
authority in? Where do you have to keep looking? [Jesus] What do we tend to do
when things don’t make sense? Come up with explanations, make analogies and
create theory. And the Bible says
when things aren’t in subjection you better keep your eyes on Jesus. Because He
is the truth and we are growing in Him. And if we come up with an
answer apart from Him you’re going to definitely create a ceiling and you’re
going to let your experience remain your experience. Isn’t this talking about
increase and growth and keeping your heart in a good place? He crowned us with
glory and honor. He set us over the works of His hands and put all things in
subjection under our feet. What did He say in Luke? “Behold I give you
authority over all the power of the enemy.” Right? “Behold I give you authority
to tread upon serpents, scorpions and all the power of the enemy. And nothing
by any means shall harm you.” And
sometimes it seems like we are harmed. Sometimes it seems like things don’t
submit. But the Bible is teaching us
there’s a place to grow in authority. There’s a place to grow in love. There’s
a place to grow in understanding to where we can move in the subduing of all
things. Because He set us over the works of His hands.2
“You will say to the mountain, ‘Move,’ and the
mountain…” will what? Will it move? It will. He didn’t say maybe it’ll move. He
said it will move. So, is the evidence of faith, you speaking at a mountain or
the mountain moving? [mountain moving] Right. Wow. So if a mountain doesn’t move let’s not be presumptuous and say,
“Well, I’m in faith.” Let’s just say, “God keep taking me in deeper.”3
One
of the questions we get all the time when we do “Power and Love” [conferences]
- “How come if it’s God’s will to
heal everybody, everybody’s not healed?” That’s like the number one
question. That question should be long answered because we aren’t walking in the revelation we’re called to and
we’ve still got issues that they are still getting resolved in our lives.
Doesn’t have nothing to do with God - has nothing to do with God. Did He give
us the authority of His name? Did He tell us, “All things, whatever we ask in
prayer believing, it shall be done and we’ll receive it?” Did He say, “If you
believe in me, the things I do, you’ll do and even greater things because I go
to the Father?” Did He say, “As the Father sent me, I send you?” Did He say all
that? Do you believe it? Then we have
to grow into it. Why, just because something didn’t come into line with
what He said do we change what He said? Why
don’t we just seek more? Why don’t we just press in? Why don’t just die to
things more? Why don’t … and I’m heading somewhere with this. You’ll
see. Because it’s the number one question - “Then how come everybody’s not
healed?” Prayer isn’t the evidence of faith. We covered that last week. Just
because you pray doesn’t mean you’re in faith. Sometimes you can pray just
because you’re trying it just to see if it works. Just because you know you can
pray you pray. It doesn’t mean you
have a revelation of God’s love for people and the finished work of Christ.
Are you following me? We think because we pray, we’ve believed.4
